Mamamayang Liberal party-list Rep. Leila de Lima reacted to the news that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has listed former ranking police officials and two incumbent senators as co-perpetrators of former President Rodrigo Duterte in his brutal ‘war on drugs.’
De Lima has taken this news positively, boosting the prosecution of Duterte, who openly instructed members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to kill people who would dare stand in his anti-drugs campaign—criminals and innocent bystanders alike—during his administration.
The former justice secretary and senator also suffered during his presidency, having been imprisoned for nearly seven years over ridiculous charges that were later proven false. She expressed hope that the ICC would serve justice to all victims of impunity as the ICC trial on the Filipino strongman looms.
