People of the Philippines versus the Supreme Court?

“These agitators, backed by communist terrorists, are desperately trying to exploit the legal avenues in the High Court to advance their sinister schemes of anarchy and chaos.”

Congress is set to convene as the National Board of Canvassers today to canvass the votes for president and vice president in the May 9 elections, even as the nation awaits the decision of the Supreme Court on the petition to stop the impending proclamation of presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. (BBM).

It’s a shame this habitual reaction of sore losers has reared its ugly head with a handful of individuals pleading the High Court to nullify the results of the presidential elections based on their previous petition over tax issues against BBM earlier junked by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

BBM has lauded other presidential candidates for participating in the democratic process in what turned out to be a clean, honest, and fair elections as witnessed by the Church-backed poll watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

The presumptive president and presumptive vice president Sara Duterte-Carpio, who clearly won by a landslide, have reached out to the losing contenders who have all publicly conceded their defeat.

In the spirit of national unity and reconciliation, BBM and Inday Sara welcomed a partnership in nation-building particularly with the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Apparently, our fellow Filipinos who voted for Robredo, Senator Manny Pacquiao and the other presidential aspirants have acknowledged the historic victory of BBM who garnered over 31 million votes or over 51 percent of the total votes cast.

There has not been any election protest filed with the Comelec challenging the results of the poll which PPCRV described as nearly 100 percent accurate.

There has not even been any protests in the streets questioning or complaining about the outcome of the election.

Unfortunately, this desperate left-leaning group would rather cause a “constitutional crisis” in appealing the Supreme Court to order the Comelec, the Senate and the House of Representatives suspend the canvassing of votes and the eventual proclamation of BBM as winner in the presidential race.

So, after their preferred candidate participated and lost, which was conducted fair and square, they now want the Supreme Court to declare the May 9, 2022 elections a “no contest” and the results invalid altogether.

These agitators, backed by communist terrorists, are desperately trying to exploit the legal avenues in the High Court to advance their sinister schemes of anarchy and chaos.

It is simply preposterous to even think the patriotic wisemen of the Supreme Court would go against “supreme will” of the 31 million plus Filipinos who voted for BBM for President.
