Former Panamanian dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega has died at the age of 83.

Initial reports on his death have just been posted by the Agence France Presse (AFP) and Al Jazeera at noon on Monday.

AFP says, “Noriega was in a hospital recovering from a brain tumor operation” when he passed away.

It quotes Panama’s Communications Secretary Manuel Dominguez as the source of the information.

Wikipedia says, Noriega was Panama’s military dictator from 1983 until 1989, when he was removed from power by the United States during the Panama invasion.
