LIST: Cities, towns issue ‘Walang Pasok’ notices amid #KristinePH

Amid public warnings that tropical depression ‘Kristine’ is expected to develop into tropical storm within the next 12 hours, several cities and municipalities across affected provinces in the eastern part of the country announced class suspensions for Tuesday, October 22.

As of 11:30 PM on Monday, students in public and private schools at all levels (except in some localities) from the following areas are notified that there would be no classes tomorrow based on the social media posts of local government units and executives:

  • Aurora – entire province
  • Bohol – entire province
  • Camarines Norte – entire province
  • Camarines Sur – entire province
  • Catanduanes – Virac
  • Masbate – Claveria
  • Misamis Oriental – Talisayan
  • Negros Occidental – Bacolod City, Talisay
  • Northern Samar – entire province
  • Quezon Province – Agdangan, Alabat, Atimonan, Calauag, Catanauan; Buenavista, Burdeos, Catanauan, General Luna, General Nakar, Guinayangan, Gumaca, Infanta, Lopez, Padre Burgos, Patnanungan, Mauban, Mulanay, Pagbilao, Perez, Pitogo, Plaridel, Polillo, Quezon, Real, Sampaloc, San Andres, San Francisco, San Narciso, Tagkawayan, Unisan

Based on its fourth tropical cyclone bulletin issued just before midnight, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said ‘Kristine’ maintained its strength as it accelerates westward.

“Since this tropical cyclone is still over the Philippine Sea, rapid intensification is not ruled out given the favorable environmental conditions,” PAGASA said.

‘Kristine’ is forecast to make a landfall by Thursday over Northern Luzon and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Friday.
