Twelve Chinese nationals were arrested for illegal online gambling and credit card fraud at a posh village in Parañaque City, the Southern Police District said Saturday.
The suspects were identified as Ma Juan, 24; Chen Bung Hui, 34; Zheng Shi Feng, 27; Li Zhu Xing, 26; Wa Zhen, 30; Tong Chao Yun, 29; Ji Qing Laz, 22; Li Ling Yu, 32; Yang Shu Qi, 23; Yu Zin, 32; Wang Shen, 20, and Li Wei, 22.
SPD Special Operation Unit operatives arrested the suspects at No. 50 Matthews Street in Multinational Village in Barangay Moonwalk around 5:45 p.m. Friday after receiving intelligence reports on their involvement in credit card fraud.
“However, the suspects were also caught in the act while operating online gambling,” SPD director Jimili Macaraeg.
The foreigners, now detained at the District Special Operations Unit custodial facility, will be charged with violation of the Access Devices Regulation Act.
