There are now a total of 93 laboratories nationwide licensed to conduct independent testing for COVID-19 after four more were accredited by the Department of Health.
The DOH said the country now has 70 accredited polymerase chain reaction (PCR) facilities and 23 GeneXpert laboratories.
The latest PCR laboratories to be certified were the De Los Santos Medical Center, Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center, and the San Pablo College Medical Center, while the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Center was approved as licensed GeneXpert laboratory.
At least 91 other laboratories are undergoing the five-step accreditation process, 85 percent of which are already on Stage 3 or above.
