In terms of overall performance, 76% of adult Filipinos expressed satisfaction with the military’s accomplishments, while just 2% were dissatisfied, resulting in a net satisfaction rating of +74.

“These findings highlight the widespread public trust and approval of the AFP. Across various regions and demographics, Filipinos continue to recognize the AFP’s commitment to safeguarding the nation and addressing evolving security challenges,” OCTA said.

“This overwhelmingly positive response reaffirms the Filipino people’s continued confidence in the institution’s dedication to national security and service.” said AFP spokesperson Col Francel Margareth Padilla.

“The AFP attributes this high level of trust to our steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation, upholding our constitutional mandate, and ensuring transparency and professionalism in all our operations. From external defense efforts to disaster response and peacekeeping initiatives, your AFP remains steadfast in our duty to protect the sovereignty and welfare of the Filipino people,” she said in a statement.

The AFP commissioned the survey through its Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations. The Philippine military’s net trust ratings ranged from +40 to +100 across regions, according to OCTA.

The highest ratings were observed in the Cordillera Administrative Region (+100), Negros Island Region (+99), Zamboanga Peninsula (+97), and Bicol Region (+95). The lowest trust rating was noted in Cagayan Valley, while 13% of adults in Bangsamoro distrust the AFP.

The survey involved face-to-face interviews with 1,200 male and female respondents aged 18 and above from November 10 to 16, 2024. It has a ±3% margin of error at a 95% confidence level, with regional margins of error of ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
