There was no order from the House leadership to have Vice President Sara Duterte impeached, said the head of the panel investigating the alleged misuse of P612.5 million in confidential funds allocated to OVP and the Department of Education during her tenure as education secretary.
“I don’t know anything about that. I have not received any communication from the House leadership,” said Manila Rep. Joel Chua.

Chua, chairman of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, issued the statement amid rumors that the President urged against the impeachment.
“We have not even discussed impeachment. Truth be told, we are focused on other issues,” Chua added.
