President, Sara ratings up slightly in Pulse Asia trust, approval poll

The trust and approval ratings of President Marcos Jr. saw an increase in December, according to a Pulse Asia survey released Monday.

The Dec. 3 to Dec. 7, 2023 poll showed that 68 percent of Filipinos approved of President Marcos’ performance, a three-point rise from his 65 percent rating in September 2023.

The survey also showed that at least 73 percent trust Marcos, a two-percentage point improvement from the last poll in September.

Vice President Sara Duterte’s approval score, meanwhile, increased from 73 percent to 74 percent.

Duterte’s overall trust score also went up by three points, from 75 percent in September to 78 percent in December.

“The President and the Vice President both have majority approval scores in every area (62% to 74% and 61% to 93%, respectively) and class (63% to 69% and 72% to 79%, respectively),” Pulse Asia said.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri scored a 49 percent approval rating, down from his September score of 50 percent. His trust rating, however, rose slightly to 51 percent in December, from 49 percent in September.

Speaker Martin Romualdez scored an approval rating of 39 percent, which was lower than his 41 percent score in September. His trust rating, however, was up to 40 percent from 38 percent in September.

The non-commissioned December poll surveyed 1,200 adults aged 18 years old and above. It has a ± 2.8 percent error margin at the 95 percent confidence level at the national level.
