Expect rain in most parts of Luzon for the rest of the week, the state weather bureau said Wednesday, as the southwest monsoon or “habagat” continued to feed Tropical Depression “Karding.”

PAGASA Weather forecaster Aldszar Aurellio point to the monitor as he gives an update of the Tropical Depression "Kardingis not expected to make landfall in any part of the country.

Moderate to heavy rains are particularly expected over central and northern Luzon on Friday as “Karding” enhances the habagat, forecaster Aldzar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

“Karding” had slightly intensified while remaining almost stationary over the Philippine Sea, Pagasa said in its 4 pm weather bulletin.

The storm’s center was estimated at 1,220 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 65 kms per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 km/h. It was moving east-northeast at 15 km/h.

A low-pressure area spotted west of Subic, Zambales had already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility last Tuesday.
