A “shabu laboratory”  was  uncovered by THE  Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on Thursday in Antipolo. PDEA agents   arrested five suspects, and seized suspected shabu, marijuana, and cocaine worth some P500,000 in a raid on a house in Cogeo, Antipolo City in Rizal province.

GMA News’ Raffy Tima on “Unang Balita” on Friday said that operatives nabbed siblings Junjie, Junrel, and Jansen Chavez, as well as Malome Amahan, and Jess Christopher Marcaida.

The  house looked ordinary outside, but when PDEA Special Enforcement Service operatives shoved a bed out of the way, a “secret passage” leading to what the unit’s Director Levi Ortiz said was a “shabu laboratory” emerged.

PDEA agents also seized half a million pesos.

Much of the confiscated marijuana were  ready to be sold, PDEA added.

PDEA surveillance information suggested that the suspects”•which Ortiz said may be “connected” to armed groups in the north”•had been operating long before Thursday’s raid got them.

PDEA also arrested drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City on Thursday.

GMA News’ “Unang Balita” reported Friday that operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation with police assets setting up a drug deal with the suspects.

PDEA agents arrested two of the suspects who sold shabu to the poseur-buyer. A third one slipped away from the authorities.

Operatives also seized from the suspects an estimated P5 million worth of shabu, the report added.

A manhunt operation is on for the third suspect, while charges are being prepared against those arrested, who declined to give any statements. “•LBG, GMA News
