THE Metro Manila Development Authority will allow motorcycle riders to use two lanes of Circumferential Road-5 (C-5 Road) and Epifanio delos Santos Avenue during rush hours to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and prevent road accidents in the areas.

The riders, according to MMDA acting chairman Thomas Orbos, will then be allowed two lanes to now include the leftmost lane along Edsa and C-5 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

However, motorcyclists traversing Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City and Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City will still be using the designated motorbike lanes at all times.

Orbos made the decision following a meeting with MMDA traffic enforcers as well as officers of various national motorcycle groups, including Felipe Rabulan of Bullriders and Rod Cruz of Arangkada and Martin Misa of RG Community All.
