ACTION for Economic Reforms, World Health Organization and National Youth for Sin Tax Movement on Saturday highlighted the need to control and reduce the harms of alcohol, especially among the young generations.

Dr. Alvin Francis Domingo, WHO health policy consultant to the Division of Non-Communicable Diseases, said young people’s exposure to alcohol should be limited by coming-out with appropriate interventions through formulation of policies.

In a forum coincided with the “Bawas Bisyo Youth Convention” held at Bayview Park Hotel in Manila, Domingo urged media and advertising industries to help in changing and shaping the way people look at alcoholism.

He said that there was a need to gather data on the impacts of alcohol on the adolescents, whose ages are below 14 years old.
