The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Dindo” was located 1,025 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 4 p.m. Friday and was expected to be outside the Philippine area of responsibility by Sunday morning.

But the typhoon, packing maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kph, will continue to boost the prevailing southwest monsoon and bring rain to Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas and Palawan.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country, Pagasa said.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from southwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
