ASG abducts 6 Sulu residents

Suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) have abducted six (6) residents of Patikul, Sulu.

Those taken hostage included two minors.

Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana says, the kidnapping was staged by about 15 armed men in Barangay Latih.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is now conducting operations to save the victims from the bandits.

Meanwhile, in Maguindanao, about two hundred (200) families have fled their homes.

This comes, amid the fighting between government forces and members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

The affected residents come from Shariff Aguak and Datu Unsay towns.

The displaced families are appealing for help.
