The Buglasan festival’s promotions committee will launch a website for the event during the 7th Tourism Educators Congress at the Negros Oriental Convention Center in Dumaguete City tomorrow, September 23.

The committee has commissioned a web developer to create the site, which will be managed by the Provincial Tourism Office.

Committee Chairman Rafael Duhaylungsod said  the website, www.buglasanfestival.com, will update Oriental Negrenses here and abroad on the festival slated for October 14 to 23.

This will also entice tourists to come to province and participate in the 10-day festivity.

Duhaylungsod said the website will post pictures of the activities as well as the profiles of the candidates for this year’s Ms. Negros Oriental title and the eight entries in the Buglasan Festival of Festivals competition.

The website will also post the winners of various competitions in the Buglasan Festival.

Apart from this, the team is also planning to incorporate live streaming on the website similar to “Facebook Live.”

Duhaylungsod said the website “will allow our friends abroad and in the provinces, those who cannot attend the festival, to be part of this activity.”

He added that the website is similar to those other local government units have set up for their festivals, such as Sinulog in Cebu and Dinagyang in Iloilo.

Apart from the website, the committee will also strengthen their presence in social media since it is a powerful tool for event promotions.
