Nacionalista Party matriarch Sen. Cynthia Villar and her son, former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar, shared the stage Thursday with Uniteam presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and vice presidential hopeful Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte during a rally in Cavite, where the leading duo introduced Mark Villar as their senatorial candidate.

The presence of the Villars in the UniTeam event at the Nomo Mall parking in Bacoor was the first since the Marcos and Duterte tandem started boosting their winning chances in next year’s polls.

It was observed that Sen. Villar’s dress had the UniTeam colors, red and green.

“I present to you Sec. Mark Villar who is running for the Senate. Let us vote for him,” Marcos said in his speech, adding that Villar has a proven track record as one of the hard-working Cabinet secretaries of President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte behind the government’s Build, Build, Build program.

Marcos, standard-bearer of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), also introduced former presidential spokesman Harry Roque of People’s Reform Party (PRP) and ex-Senator Jinggoy Estrada of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) as UniTeam‘s senatorial bets during the event organized by the Revilla family led by Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.

For her part, Duterte, vice presidential aspirant of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD), also named Villar, Roque and Estrada as her presidential candidates.

“Our senatorial candidates: Harry Roque, Mark Villar at Jinggoy Estrada,” Duterte said.

Last month the PFP, Lakas-CMD, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and PMP joined forces to form the UniTeam Alliance.

Earlier, Duterte vowed to work hard to convince other major political parties to join UniTeam.

NP is one of the key political parties in the country.
