Pangasinan execs vow to support BBM, ‘Uniteam’

Bayambang, Pangasinan—Key political leaders in the province formally announced on Saturday their full support for the “Uniteam” of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara “Inday” Duterte for next year’s presidential elections.

Bayambang Mayor Cezar T. Quiambao, convenor of the grand alliance to support the BBM-SARA Uniteam in the country’s third vote-rich province, said 44 incumbent and aspiring mayors and six incumbent and aspiring congressmen unanimously decided to ensure the victory of the Marcos-Duterte tandem in the 2022 polls.

After expressing and signing their commitment of support for BBM-SARA Uniteam, the alliance also vowed to secure the win of gubernatorial candidate and incumbent 5th District Rep. Ramon V. Guico and current vice governor Mark Ronald DG. Lambino, the team dubbed as “Alyansang Guico-Lambino” or Team Aguila, in next year’s elections.

“On behalf of all the 44 incumbent and aspiring mayors and 6 incumbent and aspiring congressmen of the province of  Pangasinan, particular to the Team Aguila, as well as my fellow Hugpong Para Kay Sara, we hereby express our unequivocal support to you, for your candidacy and we will do everything in our power to ensure an unequivocal victory in the coming elections,” Quiambao said, during the event formalizing their commitment of support to the BBM-SARA Uniteam.

Quiambao is married to singer and television personality Niña Jose who is running for mayor in next year’s local elections apparently to succeed her husband who gave up his third term reelection bid to fully support the election of the Alyansang Guico-Lambino for the gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial posts, respectively.

The local alliance endorsing the BBM-SARA tandem is composed of the Pangasinan chapters of Hugpong ng Pagbabago, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Lakas-CMD, Nacionalista Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition, Abono Party-list, People’s Reform Party, and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino.

Abono Party-list Rep. Conrad M. Estrella III and Pangasinan’s First District congressional candidate Arthur F. Celeste expressed their group’s support for the BBM-Sara ticket.

Marcos, Jr. on Sunday said to see the country unite behind the common cause of uplifting the nation is the greatest gift Filipinos will receive this Christmas.

In a statement, he said his latest travel to Cebu with his running mate Vice Presidential bet Mayor Inday Sara Duterte where they were greeted by thousands of supporters gives him hope that the unity being shown by the people will usher the country to a brighter future.

 Marcos is said to have the support of 44 mayors of the Province of Cebu.

He said the various ‘unity rides’ in several parts of the country, particularly the “Salubong” or merging of north and south on the San Juanico Bridge last November 30, symbolizes the unity of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao that is being pushed by the unifying leadership of the BBM-Sara UniTeam to usher the country to national unity, peace, and progress.
