Leni seeks support from Cebuanos

Vice President and presidential bet Leni Robredo said she is “not entitled to anything” as she vowed to work hard to gain the support of the Cebuanos.

“Cebu is very important. It is one of the biggest provinces in the country. Although I won here in 2016, I am not entitled to anything. I have to work hard to get the support of the Cebuanos,” she said.

She said the campaign in the 2016 is entirely different from the 2021 presidential campaign. “The passion of the volunteers makes up for what we do not have,” she added, referring to the support of local chief executives.

“The support of the Cebuanos is very overwhelming. Ever since I became vice president, I have been visiting Cebu every now and then for some projects,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President called on the public to stay vigilant for the awarding of the Malampaya natural gas-to-power deal to Udenna Corp. belonging to Davao businessman Dennis Uy. She said the government should have bought the plant.
