Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents arrested an American fugitive wanted in the US since 2018.
BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) Chief Rendel Ryan Sy identified the fugitive as Paul Scott Finch, 51, was arrested at Sito Paraway, Brgy.Dulangan in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro following a warrant of deportation issued earlier this month.
“Our counterparts from the US government recently shared information about his (Finch’s) crimes. We conducted a manhunt and discovered that he had been hiding in Mindoro,” he added.
Finch is reportedly the subject of two arrest warrants issued in Walton County Superior Court in Monroe, Georgia for possession of firearm by a convicted felon and for failure to appear with underlying charge of tampering of evidence.
“His passport has already been revoked by the US government, making him an undocumented alien as well,” Sy stated.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente commended the FSU for the arrest of the fugitive.
Finch will be temporarily detained at the BI’s holding facility in Taguig pending the implementation of his deportation. His name has been included in the Bureau’s blacklist, barring him from re-entering the Philippines once deported.
