DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – Leaders of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) in the province of Pangasinan are elated by and honored with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s joining the party.

In an interview Friday, Vice Governor Mark DG. Lambino expressed their happiness over the decision of “Inday Sara.”

“The Lakas-CMD members of Pangasinan are very grateful and honored that we have an exceptional chief executive who has” Lambino stated.

Lambino and former Board Member Ranjit Shahani hosted a press conference after the latter filed his candidacy for board member for the sixth district of Pangasinan, as substitute to Antonio Febre.

“(Sara is) a very able leader; as chief executive, her leadership style will bring new direction in public service which can be emulated by the next leaders here in the province,” he added.

Duterte-Carpio officially joined Lakas-CMD on November 11. Lakas-CMD President and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez administered her oath as member of the party in Silang, Cavite, with Lakas-CMD chairman Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. as witness.

On whether she is going to run for President or Vice President, Lambino said they will fully support her (see related story on A – Editors).

“The Alyansang Guico-Lambino (AGuiLa) group will respect whatever position she chooses to run for this coming 2022. Susuportahan naming sya.

But we have to respect the decision of the good mayor kung saan siya tatakbo,” he added.

Last July, the Alyansang Guico-Lambino (Aguila) group launched the candidacy of Fifth District Rep. Ramon Guico III and Lambino for governor and vice governor, respectively.

At the same event, AGuiLa also launched their campaign to push Duterte-Carpio to run for president.

Lambino reiterated last Friday that they will give their 100% support to Inday Sara, whatever position she decides to seek in the 2022 national election.
