Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) on Friday announced it will operate more domestic flights after officials in 21 of its 33 local destinations have decided to accept tourists for leisure travel.

Among those accepting vacationing guests include the famous beach destinations such as Boracay, Bohol, Camiguin, Coron (point-to-point bubble tourism), Cebu, Dumaguete, Puerto Princesa (bound for El Nido and San Vicente only), and Siargao; and destinations that boast of gastronomic adventures namely Clark, Manila, and Roxas.

“We are happy to share this update with every Juan as we see more destinations in our country safely open up their borders. We firmly believe domestic tourism is the way to go – and we remain cautiously optimistic as we gradually ramp up our network to pave the way for

domestic travel recovery,” said Candice Iyog, CEB Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience.

“We’ve said this before, and we want to say it again – making travel easier for the public will encourage them to fly during this time. On top of ensuring safe travels, we call on the industry to continue working together so we inspire more people to travel responsibly and fly easy,” added Iyog.

The airline is now preparing for the expected increase number of air travelers in the coming months, following the relaxing of travel restrictions across the Philippines.

CEB has already vaccinated 100 percent of its active flying crew with the help of local governments and its COVID Protect program, which is part of the Gokongwei Group’s initiative for all its business units.

Under the program, employees received free inoculation for themselves and their dependents, as well as third-party workers, such as check-in agents and bag handlers.

Apart from this conglomerate-led program, CEB also worked hand-in-hand with various local government units these past months to ensure its employees will be inoculated with whatever vaccine is available, at the earliest time possible.
