Domagoso: Over P100m in fees went to charity

Aksyon Demokratiko presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has donated to charity about P100 million of his talent fees from various product endorsements since 2019.

Domagoso said Thursday he feels good that his endorsement fees helped the sick and those affected by calamities that ravaged the areas around Taal Volcano, Cotabato and Cagayan.

He said a school for the nuns was also among the beneficiaries.

At the start of his stint as Manila mayor, Domagoso donated his talent fee for his first endorsement from a clothing apparel company to a cancer ward for children in a national government hospital.

The mayor said he had lost count of the number of endorsements he’s had since he assumed the mayoralty of the capital city.

Some of the products he has endorsed include food supplements, drinks, clothes, aesthetic products and even pandemic-related items like ionizer and vitamins.

Asked if any of the owners of the products he endorsed have already pledged to donate to his campaign kitty, Domagoso said he still doesn’t know.

“But I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen not a single centavo of my talent fees,” said Domagoso, as he thanked those who have been putting up billboards and other promotional materials for him.

Domagoso said he was surprised due to the many that have put up billboards for him in Maguindanao, Northern Luzon and Visayas, far from his perceived bailiwicks.

“But they still do not have our own materials,” said Domagoso.

“Whatever you see, they are spending for them, and I am grateful, whoever they are,” he added.

The Manila mayor said he is happy at how their party continues to grow fast, adding that those who share their common intention, which is to heal the country divided by politics for the past decades, are most welcome to join Aksyon Demokratiko.
