Get jabs, avoid hospitalization – Bongbong

With the occupancy rate in intensive care units and ward beds now under the high-risk category, former Sen. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is exhorting the public to get Covid-19 jabs to minimize chances of getting hospitalized.

Marcos noted that hospitals are in danger of getting overwhelmed with the high occupancy rate and severe and critical patients still lining up for admission.

As of September 13, the Department of Health reported that 74% of Covid19 intensive care unit beds across the country were utilized, while 78% of the total ICU beds in the National Capital Region were also occupied.

Meanwhile, 74% of the ward beds nationwide were also utilized, while 72% in the NCR were occupied. An occupancy rate is considered high-risk if it is over 70% but less than 85%, according to health authorities.

To minimize chances of getting hospitalized, Marcos advised the public to immediately avail of the national vaccination program as global and local data show that the benefits of getting vaccinated and the protection from Covid19 hospitalization and death still outweigh the risks for the adverse events reported.

Marcos, who himself contracted the disease before the advent of the current vaccines, pointed out that data gathered by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed that of some 13.8 million fully vaccinated individuals, only 0.0017% got Covid-19 as of August 29, 2021.

“Magpabakuna ka if you don’t want to end up in a hospital bed. Mas mahirap kung lumalala ang lagay mo dahil you have to wait for hours or even days before getting admitted.
