The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development has finalized another key agreement with Baler, Aurora local government on mass housing projects mostly intended for informal settler families.
Secretary Eduardo del Rosario signed a memorandum of agreement with Baler Mayor Rhett Ronan Angara to give way to the construction of two housing projects in the municipality.
“These housing projects are part of our balanced housing compliance wherein we provide direct support to the LGUs in the provision of site development of identified residential sites. Since Baler is needing assistance on this aspect, and when the mayor went to my office, I immediately informed him that the Department will support him and provide the necessary assistance,” he said.
“So this is the completion of direct engagement and coordination between the municipality of Baler and DHSUD. We are very happy to assist LGUs, especially third, fourth, fifth and sixth-class municipalities, which are the ones that truly need assistance,” he added.
The Baler housing project would be established in Barangay Reserva in more than one-hectare property, while the Barangay Obligacion resettlement and socialized housing project would be erected on a one-hectare land area.
Del Rosario vowed to continue providing assistance to LGUs in compliance with prescribed requirements and regulations.
