Vice President Leni Robredo is attending personally to calls made through the Office of the Vice President’s Bayanihan E-Konsulta on COVID-19 cases on a graveyard shift.
This was revealed by her chief of staff, Philip Dy, during Robredo’s weekly radio program “BISErbisyong LENI.”
“The VP herself is often on a graveyard shift. Starting 11 p.m. until midnight, she is focused on the emergency thread and the local government unit referral thread to see if there is really an emergency (case), and to facilitate immediately to a hospital (referral) or to call a local government unit (referral) so we could respond to the needs of the family or the patient,” Dy said.
He said the teleconsultation program has been flooded with over 400 cases a day.
“We could feel there is an increase in the cases (of COVID-19) through our Bayanihan E-Konsulta free teleconsult project. Just the past week, we received an average of more than 400 cases per day,” he said.
Prior to the hard lockdown, Dy said they only received an average of 100 cases daily in June and July.
Robredo launched the online medical consultation program in April to help address the surge in COVID-19 cases.
