The Department of Interior and Local Government has issued a show cause order to Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso for his alleged failure to comply with the government’s anti-drug policies in 2018.
Domagoso, however, in a Facebook post, reminded the DILG that he became mayor only in 2019.
“Wow. Galing ha! Sunod sunod na! #AlamNaThis,” he said on his social media account.
In the show cause order dated July 9, Interior Undersecretary Ricojudge Echiverri said: “Based on our assessment and verification in the 2018 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) performance audit, you have failed to comply with the policy and program mandated to your office, specifically in meeting the standards and complying with the measures set forth by the National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Audit.”
In 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Domagoso as undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
He ran and won as Manila mayor in 2019.
