Clark Freeport—Government officials and executives in this Freeport recently led a ceremonial vaccination for workers under the essential sector here.

CEREMONIAL JAB. Jannet Dulu (2nd from left), one of the employees of Luenthai International Group Philippines, Inc. posed with (from right to left) CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque, and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque after she received her first dose of the Sinovac vaccine.

The symbolic vaccination activity was held Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the CDC-Luenthai Satellite vaccination site. The program was organized to encourage more workers in the Freeport and in Region 3 to get vaccinated.

Meanwhile, some 500 workers from Luenthai International Group Philippines Inc., a locator of this Freeport and one of the leading manufacturers of fashion and lifestyle apparel and accessories in the world, initially received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccines. Luenthai partnered with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) to get their workers inoculated. The company also hopes to get all of its employees vaccinated in the coming days.

Five of Luenthai’s production unit personnel were first to receive the vaccines during the symbolic vaccination ceremony. These include Juna Espinosa, Rosalyn Puno, Jannet Dulu, Mercedita Opong, and Michael Ignacio.

Luenthai employs about 15,000 workers in the Philippines, with 3,900 of them working in Clark and San Fernando, Pampanga. The company also has manufacturing sites in Cebu, Tarlac, and Bataan.

Key officials, including Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III, Deputy Chief Implementer for National Task Force against COVID-19 Sec. Vivencio Dizon, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, CDC Chairman Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan, CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, and Luenthai International Group Philippines Inc. President Francisco Sauceda lauded the said event.

In his speech, Gaerlan shared that they will continue to partner with their locators to achieve herd immunity for employees inside this Freeport. He also thanked Duque and Dizon for their support to facilitate the rollout of the vaccines here.

“Thank you sir, for bringing the vaccines to CFZ. The locators and workers of the Freeport are very happy and lucky to be the recipients of the vaccines. I hope our workers would continue supporting our government, supporting the management of their respective companies. A lot of companies are struggling, but the only thing that we can do now is work together. I hope labor, management, and the government would continue working together to survive this pandemic,” Gaerlan added.

For his part, Dizon cited the efforts of the medical front liners in the rollout of the vaccinations in the Freeport and in Region 3.

“I would like to thank all our government workers, especially our health care workers led by RD Cora Flores, and all the members of DOH,” Dizon said. He also thanked the local government officials and economic workers for supporting the immunization drive of the government.

According to Dizon, there are already 12 million Filipinos who received immunization. “This is a testament to Mayor Cris (Garbo), Gov. Dennis (Pineda), and all our mayors throughout the country who have worked so hard to really ramp up our vaccination,” he added.

The vaccination procedure involves a 5-step process. It includes registration, health education, screening, vaccine administration, and observation.
