Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez recently distributed 5,000 doses of Pneumococcal vaccines (PPSV23) and other medical supplies to Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano as well as to select barangays in the cities of Pasig, Marikina, Caloocan and Quezon.
“We are reminded to give back to the people. They continue to face the brunt of impact of the coronavirus and this donation is a simple message that as their representative, Tingog supports them, and we are here for them,” she said.
Romualdez is the chairperson of the House committee on welfare of children.
Jude Avorque Acidre, Tingog second nominee and chief of staff of Romualdez, said the “malasakit” (compassionate) act of Tingog, led by Romualdez, was aimed at boosting health-care services amid the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Tingog’s malasakit will continue because we are committed to help the people in our quest to emerge victorious in these uncertain times,” he said.
Acidere is the national president of Junior Chamber International Philippines.
Out of the 5,000 doses of PPSV23, he said 500 doses were turned over to Calixto-Rubiano, Councilor Joey Calixto Isidro and chief of staff Peter Eric Pardo at the Pasay City hall.
The remaining 4,500 PPSV23 doses were given to the residents of several villages in Pasig, Pasay, Marikina, Caloocan and Quezon City.
Calixto-Rubiano also received assorted kinds of medicine, including Amlodepine, Simvastin, Cefurexine Axetil, paracetamol, Amoxicillin, Vitex and Blumea Balsamiferi, and even face shields and Tingog calendars.
According to Acidre, the accomplishment report of Tingog party-list was discussed with Calixto-Rubiano and Isidro “in line with our aim to establish a partnership with Pasay City geared toward a more effective delivery of Tingog’s social services and programs.”
