Brownout Alert

Grid operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines may implement Manual Load Dropping (MLD) in the following areas today, June 1, to maintain the integrity of the power system:

10AM-11AM:

BENECO (parts of Baguio City and Benguet)

NEECO II-Area 1 (parts of Nueva Ecija)

SAJELCO (San Jose City, Nueva Ecija)

QUEZELCO I (parts of Quezon)

SORECO I (parts of Sorsogon)

MERALCO (parts of Metro Manila)

11AM-12NN:

ISELCO I (parts of Isabela)

NEECO II-Area 1 (parts of Nueva Ecija)

SAJELCO (San Jose City, Nueva Ecija) 

PAMES (Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija) 

CASURECO II and CASURECO IV (parts of Camarines Sur)

MERALCO (parts of Metro Manila)

Schedule may be cancelled if system condition improves, such as if actual demand falls below projections. 

NGCP encourages everyone to exercise prudence in using electricity. 

All questions on the cause of today's grid alert are referred to the DOE.

NGCP placed the Luzon grid on Yellow Alert from 9:00AM-10:00AM,  5:00PM-6:00PM, and 10:00PM-12:00AM.

It also raised the red alert for the grid from 10:00AM-5:00PM and 6:00PM-10:00PM.

Available Capacity was placed at 11,408 megawatts while peak demand was at 11,593MW.

NGCP encourages everyone to exercise prudence in using electricity.
