The Department of Agrarian Reform distributed land titles to at least 1,322 farmers in the Western Visayas on Saturday.
Secretary John Castriciones said the 1,322 agrarian reform beneficiaries received 1,416 hectares of farmland in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras and Iloilo.
He urged the beneficiaries to cherish the day they received their certificates of land ownership, signifying their freedom from the bondage of tenancy.
He said the door-to-door delivery of CLOAs is DAR’s way of addressing challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We do this by personally delivering the CLOAs to farmers at the comfort of their homes or farms,” he said.
DAR also provided support services under its Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project.
