Act as One, an organization of volunteers from around the country, has donated folding beds to the University of the Philippines Infirmary in Diliman, Quezon City to address the shortage in hospital beds in the facility amid the influx of patients.
Dr. Alfred Tengonciang of the UP Health Services received the donation from Act as One volunteers led by Mars Arias, Tommy Dayag, Shiela Malabanan, and Jaips Teruel on April 10, 2021.
Since the outbreak the deadly COVID-19 pandemic early last year, Act as One Philippines has been mobilizing its volunteers to distribute medical supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE) and alcohol, among others, and to provide transport services, food and temporary accommodation to hospital personnel and other frontliners in the National Capital Region and provinces in Luzon needing immediate assistance.
