P13 million worth of shabu seized in Bulacan

Government agents on Friday seized in Bulacan more than P13 million worth of a shipment of shabu.

Operatives of the Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport also arrested one Jayson Quiloy, 38, the claimant of the shipment from Malaysia. 

The bureau conducted a controlled delivery operation with help from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group. resulting in the arrest of Quiloy in Barangay Guyong in Sta. Maria town around 5 p.m.

The shipment was declared as “kitchen appliances-steamboat grill” and was shipped by a “Glus Sdn Bhd. (MBE Sri Gombak).” But it contained 2,003 grams of shabu.

“In the course of the physical examination, the package was found to contain white crystalline substance inside a hotpot grill. Subsequent PDEA Chemical Laboratory Analysis confirmed that the seized white crystalline substance as shabu,” said NAIA collector Carmelita Talusan.

The suspect will be facing criminal charges.

Last February 15, a claimant of a package containing the party pill “Ecstasy” was also arrested by the authorities in the Manila Central Post Office, and also in a controlled delivery operation.
