Manila Standard deskman Arman Dumaguing Armero, seen by friends as a newsman to a tee, died Monday, February 22, only two days after looking for assignments from his newsroom seniors during his day off. He was 58.
Armero, a branded quipster in his league and an indulgent son to his widowed 87-year-old mother Nena, left behind his 20-year-old son Aaron Cham and his wife Cherry Ramos.
He finished a bachelor’s degree in 1984 at age 22 from the Lyceum of the Philippines, now Lyceum University, in Intramuros, Manila, after starting out at the Catholic San Sebastian College-Recoletos in Sampaloc, Manila.
While his parents are from Surigao del Norte, Armero, the third of five siblings – Adamar Estrada, Nicolas Ernesto, Emily, and Wilhelmina Termulo – was born in Metro Manila, and studied at the Tandang Sora Elementary School before he enrolled at the Ramon Magsaysay High School in Cubao, Quezon City.
The wake will be at St.Peter Funeral Homes at Barangay Gulod in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
