The City of Taguig is expanding its contact-tracing tool for residents to have an easy access to all government programs and COVID-19-related services.

With the main goal of unifying the services into one portal, the local government will also use the Taguig Registry for Assessment and City Engagements or TRACE as a registration tool for other services that the city offers like vaccination, health benefits, and social services.

On Monday, Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano encouraged residents, workers, and visitors to the city to register to TRACE Taguig and generate a QR code.

“Now, that we are few steps closer to the COVID-19 vaccine, I am encouraging the public to download the TRACE Taguig application. The main goal is to trace all Taguigeños, visitors, and workers that go around the city. Through TRACE, people will have an easy access to all government programs and COVID-19 related services,” he said.

The city has one of the lowest fatality rates recorded in Metro Manila.

“With the help of our medical workers and the people’s cooperation, we were able to maintain these low numbers. Depsite this, Taguigeños are still encouraged to follow health and safety protocols,” said Cayetano.

He says registration can be done through the application available for Android and iOS, website application, or self-service kiosks and door-to-door registration procedure for those who do not have access to technology or legal identification.

The QR code serves as a personal digital identification and health declaration form.

City Hall and other establishments have been using the TRACE QR code for contact-tracing purposes. In the following weeks, the city will be partnering with establishments to unify efforts on contact tracing.

Apart from helping isolate the spread of COVID-19, the TRACE QR code will serve as a pre-requisite in getting vaccinated for COVID-19 in Taguig as it will create a more centralized citizen’s database as an accurate reference for the vaccine rollout in the city.

Cayetano says with the help of TRACE, it will be easier for residents to access the city government’s programs and services, especially those in health and socio-economic benefits like cash gifts, scholarships and other forms of assistance.

Registration for TRACE and getting a QR will also be possible soon through self-service kiosks and door-to-door registration.
