Palace spokesperson Harry Roque said on Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte plans to hold a full Cabinet meeting on December 14 but has yet to detail the agenda of the meeting.
Roque said the meeting with the Cabinet will take place before the President’s weekly address to the nation.
Duterte used to conduct monthly Cabinet meetings but this stopped after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic nset in March.
“I think that’s [COVID-19] a very good reason,” Roque said at a press briefing.
The President later convened the Cabinet in October to discuss the further reopening of the economy and public transport challenges amid the public health crisis.
Duterte and the Cabinet officials present during the October 12 meeting wore face masks, complete with plexiglass table dividers were set up to ensure social distancing.
Roque said Duterte prefers face-to-face meetings instead of online interaction.
