Magnitude 5 earthquake hits Batangas

A magnitude 5 earthquake hit Batangas and rocked some areas in Metro Manila Thursday afternoon.

Of tectonic origin, the tremor struck at 1:25 p.m. eight kilometers northwest of Mabini town.

Intensity 4 was felt in Mabini, San Luis, Lemery, Rosario, Agoncillo, Calatagan, Balayan, Bauan, Sta. Teresita in Batangas, and Tagaytay City, Alfonso and Amadeo, Cavite.

Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Navotas City, Majayjay in Laguna and Dolores in Quezon experienced Intensity 2.
