Clark Freeport—Some P1.6 million worth of sex-enhancing drugs were intercepted at the Clark International Airport by joint elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Customs Port of Clark shortly after the parcel passed through the x-ray division area.

BoC Port of Clark District Collector lawyer Ruby Alameda said the parcel, carrying three plastic bags of illegal drugs, was neatly concealed in an air humidifier box and was consigned to a certain Monica Santos of barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.

Alameda said the shipment was declared as containing massage oil and pet foods by  shipper Reship.com, believed to be an online seller from United Kingdom.

The contraband was shipped via air courier to Clark International Airport on Aug 30 and was later discovered to be carrying prohibited substance when checked thoroughly by BoC examiners assigned at the airport.

PDEA-Pampanga agents immediately launched a “controlled-delivery” operation after they confirmed that the parcel was carrying close to 1,000 tablets multi-colored party drugs inserted on the air humidifier box.

PDEA agents and BoC police disguised as delivery men of a courier firm tracked the consignee address, but nobody came forward to pick up the package.

“The occupants of the apartment seemed to have abandoned the place as nobody showed up despite repeated calls, “ PDEA agents said.

PDEA said it waited for another week hoping that someone will come forward to claim the package.

“When nobody showed up to pick up the parcel, BoC Port of Clark decided to turn over the illegal drugs to PDEA,” Alameda said, adding that the seizure of party drugs a group effort between Customs and PDEA personnel.

Alameda warned shippers of contrabands to stop sending unlawful substance to the Philippines as they will not succeed because of the modern equipment and vigilance of Customs examiners in the field.
