‘Bill on online voters registration a priority’

A senior official of the House of Representatives on Monday said he would prioritize the deliberations on the online voters’ registration bill.

Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, chairman of the Committee on Rules, said he would push for the approval of House Bill 7063 that he and the late Party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. of Senior Citizens, who was then chairman of the chamber’s Special Committee on Senior Citizens, filed.

Datol died last month of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“We will prioritize the passage of this very timely legislation that our very dear friend, the late Congressman Jun pushed until his death. This will also help the government’s campaign to quell the (spread of the) pandemic,” Romualdez said.
