Slight raises, cuts in pump prices today

The country's oil firms raised the price of gasoline by P0.10 per liter but cut the price of kerosene and diesel by P0.10 per liter effective 6am Tuesday to reflect the movement of prices in the world oil market.

"Please see fuel price adjustments of Shell effective 6AM, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. Gasoline, P0.10 per liter increase. Kerosene, P0.10 per liter decrease. Diesel, P0.10 per liter decrease," Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. said in its advisory.

PTT Philippines, PetroGazz, Cleanfuel and Seaoil Philippines issued separate advisories of their latest oil price adjustments.

Over the weekend, Unioil Philippines said consumers can "expect fuel prices to have mix movement" for the week September 1 to September 7.

"Diesel should have no price change or could go down by P0.10 per liter. Gasoline should increase by P0.10 per liter," Unioil said.

The oil companies also raised the price of gasoline by P0.15 per liter last August 25 but cut the price of diesel and kerosene have decreased by P0.15-P0.20 per liter and P0.20-P0.25 per liter, respectively.

Prior to Tuesday's latest oil price movement, total year-to-date adjustments to stand at a net decrease of P4.02 per liter for gasoline, P8.89 per liter for diesel and P13.29 per liter for kerosene.

World oil prices plunged significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic amid the decline in demand as consumers are forced to stay home and businesses operate lesser hours to avoid infection.
