The Bureau of Customs seized P2.6 million worth of fake cigarettes in Santiago, Isabela.
In a statement, the BOC said that customs agents raided a warehouse in Santiago, Isabela where 86 master cases of fake Marvel and Mighty cigarettes were found inside an abandoned truck.
“The goods were immediately confiscated by Customs for lack of permit and violation of Customs laws, rules and regulations,” the agency said.
The BOC reiterates its commitment to prevent the entry of smuggled and fake goods as the same may have serious effects on the health of unknowing users as well as the impact it will have on legitimate manufacturers and importers.
Local officials, police and the Bureau of Internal Revenue were also part of the raid, the BOC said.
