Mikee Defensor, daughter of Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor, has expressed support for the employees of ABS-CBN who stand to lose their jobs after the non-renewal of the network's franchise. Her father played a key role in the rejection of ABS-CBN's franchise renewal.

“…To assume that we share the same opinion is unfair. I've had my own share of arguments and debates in my own home in order to prevent all this from happening. But at the end of the day, I'm not the one in Congress. And more importantly, I am NOT my father,” Mikee said in a Twitter post.

“My heart goes out to those who are greatly affected by this, most especially the 11,000 workers who have lost their jobs in the middle of a pandemic,” she added.

Earlier, Kito Noel, son of Malabon Rep. Jaye Lacson-Noel also aired his displeasure over how his mother voted on the ABS-CBN franchise renewal as well as on the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

“Damn my mom really voted for the terror bill AND for denial of franchise renewal for abs-cbn? Pick a struggle and go you fascist…She's the Lone District Representative of Malabon City so if u live in Malabon remember not to vote for a fascist,” Kito said in a series of tweets.

Kito has since deactivated his Twitter account.
