The Philippine music industry lost another legend with the death of the Haring Solomon hit maker .

Pedro G. Santos, also known as Boy Sullivan, died on Friday, June 26, at the age of 83.

Sullivan started the novelty music genre when Vicor Music released his first album in 1972, which included his greatest hit "Haring Solomon” (May Alagang Pagong).

That album was followed by two more albums in the same year, which all went gold and platinum in less than a month.

Sullivan’s other hits included “Kikay,” “Pinagbigyan” (Anak Ka ng Pu…), “Itlog at Mani” and the classic “Mang Gusting.”

Before he wrote the hit "Haring Solomon," Sullivan was one of the original members of The Big 3 Sullivans with Mar Lopez and the comedian Apeng Daldal.

During the 1980's all his songs were monster hits among the Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia and the other countries in the Middle East.

Sullivan was the father of singer/composer and musical director Charlie Fry, who followed his steps with novelty and parody songs.

Dubbed as the Pinoy Parody King, Fry is the composer and singer of today’s Pandemic lockdown favorites of netizens like “Oh Meyor” and “Quarantine.”

The wake for Sullivan is being held at the San Sebastian Chapel in Barangay San Sebastian in Hagonoy, Bulacan. He will be interred tomorrow, June 30.
