BOC agents seize 960 grams of ‘weed’

The Bureau of Customs seized more than 960 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth at least P1.1 million at the Port or Clark, in Pampanga province.

Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero said the illegal drugs were declared as “art-work fine” from California, USA which arrived on June 9, 2020.

The BOC chief said the bureau received a tip that the shipment contains illegal drugs and was subjected to inspection.

“Upon conducting physical examination on the subject shipment, it yielded two vacuum-sealed clear plastic packs of suspected fine kush weeds,” Guerrero said. Vito Barcelo

He said the shipment was also subjected to K9 sniffing which indicated the presence of illegal drugs, while PDEA chemical analysis likewise confirmed that the shipment is marijuana.

“Also found in the shipment were six tobacco rolling papers and a bottle of CBD Oil which likewise positively resulted from the presence of marijuana,” Guerrero added.

The illegal shipment was turned over to the PDEA.
