Subic worker found dead

Subic Bay Freeport Zone—A maintenance man from Marikina who was staying in a barracks inside the Subic Bay Freeport because of the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine was found dead in the morning of May 1, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority said.

SBMA Intelligence and Investigation Office identified the victim as Jimmy Gonzaga Ocana Jr., 40 years old.

Ocana worked for the Subic Bay Freeport Grain Terminal at the Cubi Point here. His lifeless body was found at 5:45 a.m. by his co-workers beside his bed.

Freeport officials ruled the death as COVID-19 related as the victim did not show any symptom of the disease like fever or cough and had no history of travel or exposure.

Initial investigation by the Philippine National Police in Morong, Bataan also ruled out foul play in the death of the victim.
