The Bureau of Corrections on Wednesday said that three inmates died in a stabbing incident inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City on Tuesday afternoon.

In a report to the Department of Justice, BuCor said inmate identified as Pedro Pagador suddenly stabbed fellow inmates Ryan Aringgo and Amber Caja using an improvised knife inside the national penitentiary’s Maximum Security Compound at 3:30 p.m.

Because of this, other inmates tried to stop Pagador, who sustained injuries during the riot.

Pagador and victims were rushed to the NBP Hospital where they later died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The BuCor said inmates claimed Pagador became unruly due to his concern over his good conduct time allowance, which is a reward time to reduce an inmate’s prison term.

The DOJ said the investigation was ongoing to determine Pagador’s motive behind the killing of his fellow inmates.
