PCSO turns over STL Monitoring System Portal in Mandaluyong

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), had its official turnover ceremony for the STL Monitoring System (SMS) Portal at the PCSO main office in PCSO Conservatory building in Mandaluyong City.

Present were PCSO Chairperson Anselmo Simeon Pinili, General Manager Royina M. Garma, AGM for Charity Julieta F. Aseo, AGM for Administrative Sector, AGM Larry Cedro, Executive Assistants Ms. Sharon Marasigan and Angelo de Leon, and SMS Portal Software Development team Jodel Dacer, Marvin Virgen, Louie Tenorio. Jonathan Noguera and Brian Villaflores.

The STL Monitoring System is an in-house/self-reliant web-based application portal which was developed through the Office of the Chairman and is a tool to enhance the efficiency of the Branch Operations Sector in monitoring the sales and remittances of the STL AACs.

PCSO GM Royina M. Garma expressed in a press statement; “Technology is pacing fast and in public service, we need to step and keep up.”

“This initiative will surely contribute to increased productivity, more efficient use of materials, better monitoring of our revenues and less human intervention, which is one of the many challenges in operations,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, during the program, Ms. Sharon Marasigan, Executive Assistant quoted Neil Armstrong, American astronaut, aeronautical engineer, and the first person to walk on the Moon; “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

“It is those little victories can spur us on difficulties, challenges every day. Celebrating those victories is a small step to more steps moving forward,” discussing about the innovation in the monitoring system of STL remittances of the Agency, addressing the need to efficiently collect the shortfalls of STL remittance.

The Branch Operations Sector of the Agency will be the end-user of web-based application shall fully assume the responsibility for its proper implementation.

It can be recalled that during the AACs SMS Portal orientation held last year in June, PCSO Chairperson Pinili expressed: “When I look at PCSO, what comes to mind is the automation of its operations and services. Automation with the aid of technology.”

The automation of PCSO operations has been one of the thrusts of Chaiperson Pinili since his appointment into office in 2018.
