Chairman Danilo Lim of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority commended one of the agency’s traffic enforcers who went viral on social media for helping a mother and her sick five-year-old child in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Lim said Jeremi Jorge Lukban, an MMDA Traffic Enforcer 3, must be praised for not hesitating to extend a helping hand to a mother who was bringing her son to the Alabang Medical Center due to high fever.

“Mr. Lukban’s good deed is worthy of emulation. It is a clear manifestation of his high sense of dedication to public service. We are proud that he was able to help a mother in need,” said Lim.

The incident happened last weekend while Lukban was performing his usual duty.

While manning Alabang Zapote Road, he noticed a woman inside a vehicle forcing its way out of traffic, asking for help.

Lukban immediately responded and approached the woman, later identified as Mit Javellana, the mother of the boy.

Lukban offered to carry the child who was having chills due to high fever to the emergency room of the hospital, located 200 meters away from his post.

Lukban’s deed went viral after Javellana posted her experience and shared her gratitude to him on Facebook.

Lukban will be awarded a certificate of commendation on the agency’s flag raising ceremony on Monday, Jan. 27.

Currently on job order status, Lukban will also be given a permanent position as reward.
