Police busted two suspected drug dealers and seized 2.5 kilos of shabu worth P17 million in a drug-entrapment operation at a subdivision in Las Piñas City Wednesday night.

A composite team from the Las Piñas City Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Group conducted the operation around 6:50 p.m. at Verdant Acres Subdivision in Barangay Pamplona Tres which resulted in the arrest of Jerrymias Suson and Miguel Castillo.

Recovered from the suspects were 2.5 kilos of shabu and marked money worth P1.5 million used by police operatives, who disguised as buyers of the prohibited substance, during the drug sting.

Las Piñas City police commander Col. Segundo Lagundi Jr. said the undercover policemen were able to purchase three big heat-sealed plastics of shabu contained in candy wrappers from the suspects during the operation.

Lagundi said the police operation was made in close coordination with barangay officials and members of the media.

“The seized drugs will be turned over to the SPD [Southern Police District] Crime Lab for chemical analysis while cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared for filing against the suspects,” said Lagundi.

The police operation came two months after the seizure of P455 million worth of shabu during a raid at an apartment, also in Las Piñas City.

Raided was Unit-A Lot 27 Blk 5 along F. Manalo Street, Golden Acres Subdivision in Barangay Talon 5.

Acting on a tip off, a composite team from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, Southern Police District and the local police raided the apartment and found 67 kilograms of shabu placed in tea bags.

Police said the woman arrested during the raid is the alleged live-in partner of Joel Bustamante, one of the suspects arrested in a buy-bust operation also in November last year at a parking lot along C-5 extension in Barangay Manuyo, also in Las Piñas City.
