A lawyer who sued President Rodrigo Duterte before the International Criminal Court for allegedly committing crimes against humanity for his bloody war against illegal drugs decided to withdraw his communication.
Jude Sabio, who was the lawyer of confessed hitman Edgar Matobato, said that he has written a letter to ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda manifesting his intention “to withdraw my earlier ICC communication.”
“I am set to submit it personally with the ICC anytime soon,” Sabio confirmed, in a text message.
Lawyer Larry Gadon, who claimed that he assisted Sabio for “moral support,” was the first to provide the information to media.
Pertinent portion of the letter that Gadon sent to reporters indicated that Sabio is asking the ICC prosecutor to erase his communication from the ICC record.
